‘So how did it go? It is almost a fortnight since the completion of our Imaginator’s trip to India and we are still reeling with the tasks accomplished! Although it seemed like a short 3 week trip when planned, it went on to become more busy than ever!
I joined Tracy for what I thought was going to be a relaxing weekend at the Novotel Juhu on the beach ……quickly reality hit and I realised the next 21 days was going to be action packed! We filled our hours catching up on work status from our respective parts of the world (at least we did this as we strolled on the beach and laid beside the swimming pool). We also managed to fit in a meeting with the marketing manager of a leading theme park in India and another meeting to touch base with an Indian toy distributor. Did I mention we did all of this in just 24hrs!
After our very productive time in Mumbai, we arrived in our Pune base camp and there would be no time for any type of strolling….Monday was here and there was so much to do!
We immediately jumped into discussions and back to back meetings with our App development team. With the ‘imagineering’ of our new product line there were nuances to be discussed and ideas to be refined. After a few working breakfasts most of the questions were answered and our App team was equipped for the next phase. Stayed tuned to our upcoming blogs for a sneak preview of our exciting new App Smart DIY range.
The major highlight was our visit to the Kids India Toy Fair. Ohh it was so much fun!! Just seeing some of the photos would make anyone jealous. Being my first visit to a Toy Fair, I was thrilled to see such innovation and creativity in the toy industry. The toy fair was twice the size as it was last year and we came back from the fair with a bag full of goodies, minds overflowing with ideas and loads of new connections.
Another highlight was meeting with a professional, enthusiastic and creative craft company that produce and retail theme based craft boxes for kids in India and beyond. The meeting was indeed a match made in heaven! The team was everything that we at Imagine believe in, their ideas as well as principles struck a chord with us and thus we found our India Manufacturing team and more!
On this same day we also met with the Deputy General Manager of a global quick service food chain. The meeting with him was exciting and opened doors for our customized App Smart DIY Craft Kits, as well as a fun recruitment opportunity and much more. We will be giving you some fantastic news regarding this client very soon.
There always seems to be one more task that Tracy can add to the To Do List….. her time in India would also see us recruiting a part-time Indian based marketing consultant for an Australian company. So the Imagine Duo also made a couple of Mumbai trips to conduct first and second level interviews. After going through a long list of applicants we finally zeroed down the list, presented a report to our client and left the final scrutiny to the client herself.
Tracy knows that working ‘on’ the business is as important as working ‘in’ the business, so she ensured adequate time was spent in sessions with her business coach. Perhaps we can get her to share the secrets in a future blog, because whatever happens in those sessions she comes away transformed for the better and our business blossoms!
Okay so honestly the trip wasn’t all work and no play! The Imagine Duo did sneak in some enjoyable moments as well… a pamper session at the spa, feasting on Krispy Kreme donuts, watching movies and breakfast at the One-O-Eight Cafe. Tracy spent time with her loved ones at the Sangam World Centre and attended the very special opening of their Shala.
So can you believe that all of this took place in just 21 days! My conclusion is that our Imaginator’s India Trip was crazy busy, rewarding and a huge success!
What do you guys think? How did it go?
